Bx Steering wheel is something wrong?

I was mowing the lawn today when I noticed that even when the front wheels are locked right over, one way or the other, the steering wheel can keep turning. I didn't want to break anything but after the tires stopped moving I did turn the steering wheel one complete turn and quit. It did this more than once and in both directions.
This seems very strange and something it should not do.
What do you think and how does your's respond in this situation.

mine does NOT do that. sounds like something came loose.

NO--it should not do that--get the dealer pronto but I suspect your steering wheel Jesus nut is loose. Hopefully a minor detail. J

Could be that chewed up finger the J.D.gods gave ya getting in the way!HA,HA,Just kidding,where is that picture at"finger"?I want the better half to see it.Ganna try to get some mileage outa that myself.You know,big ol hammer fell off the bench and mashed my toe.If i had a big ol store bought tool box ta keep it in it would not have happened!Im sure the orange crew will help ya get that new rig tamed down."one skuffed up finger=new tractor"you are the man"!!!

Mine does that and all the ones I test drove did the same thing. It says in the manual that there is a pressure release valve. I assume it means that the pressure is released gradually when the steering is fully turned left/right and the steering wheel will continue to turn slowly accordingly. It makes sense to me. It also says to not keep it in that position for a long time.

Is this what you were talking about?
