I have been having problems like many BX owners with the hydro pedal sticking. I have tried greasing the zerk fitting several times (only 38 hours on tractor) to no avail. I almost had a life threatening accident last night where I almost hit a friend with the FEL because the pedal stuck firm. Right now I can push the pedal down and it will stay firmly in that position forward or reverse. I called the dealer to pick up the tractor to service the problem. Have you guys who had the dealer work on the sticking problem had good results. From what I understand, Kubota has no solution. Their engineers better come up with one soon before someone gets hurt. I think they'd be in for a big money lawsuit.

Must be dirt in the fitting or a slight problem with tolerances. It can't be too expensive for the dealer to replace the assembly under the warranty program - I'd push for that.

No problems on my BX at 51 hours - due for its first service ...

I had the same problem with greasing mine.
Dealer came out installed the fitting and about a week later
it started sticking again.

I got under the tractor and disconnected everything
associated with the pedal.
I found that the pedal sleeve (for the lack of a better term) can move sideways about a half an inch.
I then greased the hell out of it moving the sleeve sideways (back and forth) and it hasn't been a problem since.
If you can't see grease coming out of then ends then maybe the fitting is defective.

I had the same problem with my pedal. I sort of worked around it figuring I would fix it when I got a chance. However, when I sent the BX to the dealer for it's 50 hour service he took note of the problem. He said that the he had to order parts to fix it and kept the tractor for an extra week until he got the parts. When I asked why he didn't grab the part from a tractor on the lot ( and get me back my tractor!) he said that they were different on the current models and the fix for my unit required specific parts.

Whatever he did and used worked. At 85 hours the pedal continues to work fine.

My fix was covered under warranty. I'd talk to your dealer about the problem.

Good Luck,

Dave

I had my sticking pedal problem fixed when the dealer performed the 50 hour service (grease fitting added.) I'm at 92 hours now and no further problems.

My original pedal didn't have the grease fitting, and I had the problem at a modest 5 hours. The dealer put in a new pedal with a fitting and it lasted 10 hours or so before having the problem again. I looked at it real hard, pulled the pedal base off the rod, opened up the bushings a bit, and it now works fine as long as I grease it every couple hours or so. But it still occasionally sticks, so I'm keeping my ear open for when Kubota fixes it right...then I'll call on my dealer again...

I seem to remember my dealer saying something about a new spring when he did the fix. I believe that that was the part he had to wait for.
