Tractor supply had some smaller ammo boxes for $9.00 that lined up perfectly with an existing carriage bolt on the frame in front of the brake.

That does look like it would work well. My BX26660 has a carriage bolt there too. I might have to try that.

I was going to put this on my BX1860, it only has the park brake latch on that side, but luckily they included a tool box on the B2601 that I am replacing my BX with. Thank you for this clever ideal. I may still replace the toolbox with one of those ammo boxes. The ammo box iw watertight and much sturdier than the plastic tool box!
