Dear fellow BXers..... I need to mount a small toolbox on my BX2200 to store some tools, lynch pins, etc in. Have any of you installed one yet on your BX? If so where did you end up mounting it? I was thinking of hanging it on the ROPS but there probably is a better place. I usually have my FEL on the front so not much room up there.....

I ended up buying a Cratsman toolbag. I put it on the deck, right in front of me, between my feet. It's out of the way and I can grab it and take it with me if I need it. Its conveniant and cheap...cost me about $16.

I found a small red hip roofed tool box at my local Aubuchon Hardware store that I monted behind the seat of my BX1800. It is large enough for a couble of wrenches, pliers, a small ball pean hammer, pins garden shears etc. I drilled two holes in the bottom of the box trough the sheet metal behind the seat to mount it and it works really well.

Much like dooze, I mounted a box (old army ammo) behind the seat. It is rather tall and skinny, holds quite a bit. Keeps the seat from being moved back all the way. Not a problem with me, being just 5'6". I posted a picture some months ago.

Hope you like your BX as much as I do.

I Just purchased a new BX2200, with FEL and 54" MMM, and a box scrapper. I needed a tool box to keep a chain and a few tools in, so I got a piece of 4" thick walled pipe and some end caps and clean out plugs and glued them together. Then i strapped them to the insides of the ROPs . There out of the way and dont look bad either.

I carry a tool box in my weight box (see attachment) that goes on the 3 point hitch. It will easily hold a metal toolbox plus you can carry bigger tools like sledgehammer, rakes, etc.

You ought to be using a weight box anyway, the BX2200 really needs rear ballast with the FEL.

Al, when I bought mine it was delivered with the tractor. I think it is a 'real' farm implement as it is well made. I bought the tractor from Bob Wolff of Woodbury Tractor 203 266-4845. Compared to the price of it it would not be worth it to ship because it is heavy, but Bob might be able to tell you the brand so you could find one locally. There was no brand marking on it, maybe he has a local machine shop build 'em who knows.
