Well, I've solved my only major gripe about my BX by installing a toolbox. It is a WWII vintage ammo box that I think will work out just fine. It is bolted thru the bottom to the brace between the ROPS. Big enough to take 12" long tools and deep enough to hold several good size chains too. I may take it back off to paint it orange. This seems to be a good solution for me, being "short legged" (5'6"). Someone considerably taller would want the seat further back and that would interfer with the placement of the box. I've attached a photo, having used my cheap digital camera, ($50 for Dlink DSC 350 at Staples). Thanks to John Miller III for that tip. Gerry

Gerry,

You won't believe all those ammo boxes I gave/threw away years ago...{cleared out on old Army/Navy store}

Now, I should have my head examined {bet they wouldn't find anything /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif} for doing that...

Would you please post some 1024 resolution pictures, either my cheapo Dlink is defective or really cheapo... I'm just not use to this "manual" focus thing... I like the auto focus.../w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

One more thing, the most pictures I could store was 91 {mixed}, how about you? {Ad says up to 500... yeah right /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif}

I've not had more than 30 photos on at once - just kinda playing with it and erasing as I go along because, like you I haven't yet got the hang of the manual focus thing. I'll try to post a 1024 resolution pic tonight, if not then it will be in about 10 days because I'm heading for the mountains of N. Carolina. I'll see how many I can store while on vacation.

Nice toolbox. I was thinking about something similar in just about the same spot. I didn't consider the seat position however.

I'm going to try and attach something a bit larger to a long steel plate then slide that into the two triangular holders that carry the road travel warning sign. It'll (hopefully) rest on the rear body panel behind the seat. I will post a pic if I have any luck with that configuration.

That will work. I looked long and hard for the perfect container to use, no luck. Then I decided to build a box from wood, making it 19" X 5.5" X 6" tall. Then I found the ammo box. It is almost ideal although it could be a bit longer. The real "problem" is width because of the seat and the retainer clip that holds the top arm of the 3PH when not in use. I was able to place the ammo box offset to one side thus it could be a bit wider (it is about 61/2"). The lid is a bonus. Good luck. Gerry

Nice box. Ammo boxes are waterproof, too. Yeah, paint it Kubota orange. Nice contrast with some of the purple dirt you seem to have like John.
