BX1500 hesitating/stalling any ideas?

I have a BX1500 circa 2005 with a bit over 400 hrs on it. Last year it began a slight hesitation that seemed to occur during direction change while mowing. I tried adjusting the safety switch on the seat and that seemed to eliminate the problem. However, it appears to be getting worse. I'll be mowing in straight line and for a split second the motor will act like its shutting off then pick right back up. As long as the engine is at max throttle it seems to catch after the hesitation/stall and keep running. If it does it at low or part throttle, it will shut down. I changed both fuel filters last year. I have considered a pin hoe leak in the fuel line but have not had time to check that out yet. Any other ideas I can look into? Thanks for the help!!

You jumped from electrical to fuel, why? You have to determine which is the area to search. Sounds like it's a wire or several that may be chaffed or bare and grounding out on the frame....

BTW, you need a cool signature!

That's two posts for continuing electrical issues. Thanks Sandyc and Coyote! I will look for chaffed wires and such. How do I by pass the safety switch? Just put a jumper wire in the plug? And I'll get to work on the cool signature...

I had similar trouble due to the safety switch on my bx1500, it would stumble and try to die when mowing. Sometimes on smooth terrain but more often on bumpier parts. What made me think it was the switch was that it never had so much as a hiccup when using the machine doing anything but mowing.

I disconnected the switch and made a jumper wire for the plug, taped it up and tied it away and haven't had a problem since. I'll get around to replacing the switch some day...
