Tires BX1500 Tires on a BX2200?

I agree that it is a matter of ratio, however, since they are designed for the same tractor, the BX series, the relationship ratio would be the same for the 1500 and the 2200.

I would not bet on it. I don't think the BX1500 is the same tractor as the bX1800/2200, anymore than the B7500 is the same as the B7800...

Just going by the tire size, and not knowing the actual measurements, it looks like the 1500 tires are 0.89 of the 2200 size on the front, and 0.92 on the rear.

If this is the actual situation, then it would cause the system to move in the direction of underspeed of the front with respect to the rear. From what I have read slight overspeed is desired. So a 3% push in the direction that slows the front tires with respect to the rears might cause a problem.

It is possible the ratio's might be the same if actual measurements of the tires are taken, but that should be measured and not assumed in my opinion...

edit: Now this only matters in 4x4 mode. Nothing wrong with a low rider in 2wd mode! turfs are for grass cutting anyway. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gifWonder if the wheels will fit? /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Well the news from Kubota is that the wheels are a direct bolt on. Of course I cannot mix and match as stated earlier. I only intend on using them for mowing so 4wd would be on a rare occasion. The only concern stated was the lower clearance in regards to dragging the mower deck over objects I was able to clear in the past. In my situation I can't think of any clearance issues as such. I guess before tearing down this path in the first place I should have posted the question that spurred the purchase in the first place. With the tremendous amount of rain we have had here in Minnesota the ground is extremely soft so the bar tires are really tearing things up just crossing the yard etc. I was thinking the turfs would be the ticket in this situation. Am I wrong in my assumptions? With my luck I'll end up in a situation where the tires more easily break loose and spin on the grass resulting in ruts etc. Can anyone comment on the turfs?

Don't forget you'll need to compensate on your mower height adjustment for the lower tractor postition...your suspended BX MMM deck should not be riding on the anti-scalp wheels. They should only touch the ground occasionally, but on the flat and level should clear the ground by 1/4" to 1/2" or so.

I think you will like the turfs for mowing. We just recently got 6 inches of rain in 4 days. I mowed through standing water in some places, with no damage to the yard. I used to have a much lighter lawn tractor with bar tires and it would leave small marks when really wet. I even have my rears loaded on my BX2230, so I am looking at about 1800 lbs with the loader off and I mow everything but the front ditch where all the water has been sitting. I mow it with a push mower and leave worse marks then the rest of the yard. Those turfs have a nice big contact patch for good weight dispersion. I have yet to spin a tire, but I probably could if I wasn't using common sense. No ruts in the yard yet. I actually think the big tires are helping to smooth out some of the rough spots when it is soft out.
