Yes. I値l chalk this one up to just not knowing much about tractors and PTO痴. When I purchased my tractor I was shown to just pull the deck off and leave the stub shaft. I always thought it was a bad design until now I realized that the mid PTO shaft connects much in the same way the rear one does. I always though I would致e had to break the u-joint in half to 田ompletely remove the stub shaft. So, after all these years when I remove my deck I was battling with the splined shaft getting it lined back up to re-install the deck after putting new blades on or some other maintenance. I was just doing what I was shown. I didn稚 have a manual on my deck which would致e shown that. I saw the procedure yesterday when I was trying to figure out what I damaged.

I知 getting a seal today and am going to see if that does it. Thanks for all your help. I値l update here when I知 done.

The mid pto is a separate casting and unbolts from the bottom side of the transmission case but you need to drain the fluid first as the mid pto is lubricated from the main case fluid.

Remove it and replace the seal on the bench.
