BX 2200
My BX2200, FEL, MMM was delivered about 4 weeks ago. Went out to mow yesterday and noticed the right side of the MMM was not lifting. Took a look and found that the head of the pin on the tractors right side (starboard) MMM lifting arm had sheared off leaving about a 3/4 inch stub. The pin is welded to the lifting arm and without the head the MMM adjustable linkage just slips right off.

Called the dealer. He said this was a "common problem".
I read the discussions here and I have not seen this issue mentioned. (???)

The dealer said he would have someone out today. Replacing or removing that lift bar looks like a major job.
This should be a real dealer/sales guy test.

My concern is that if it happened after 6 hours it may very likely happen again. I thought the BX2200/MMM was the best for my situation, but now I'm having doubts.

Anyone encounter this before?

thanks

Vin

I have about 100 hours on my BX2200 and have had no problems of any kind. I mow a lot of grass, some of it when it's about 8"- 10" tall on kind of ruff terrain with no problems. I think this is an isolated incident as this is the first time I heard of this happening on a BX. I'd just get it fixed with a new part and not worry about it.

I haven't heard of that problem either but I did have the bracket that holds the spring loaded pin (used to attach MMM to lift arm) on the right side lift arm break at the weld.

My BX has nearly 500 hrs, 90% mowing, and has not had that problem.

91 hours. 30 mowing and I haven't had this problem, get it fixed. Don't get too worried about the future, this is a great tractor.

Had a similair problem where the hole the pin went through was not aligned and it would "drop" out of the hole when I hit a bump. It was fixed when I left my tractor to have the blades replaced and the spindles checked. Now If I could only figure out why my dealer is giving me the run around on why the blades are getting loose.

200 hours of heavy use, never had that problem or anything similar. I rarely have heard of any similar problems here, and I've been paying attention, so I wouldn't worry about it. Let the dealer take care of it, and I'm sure you'll be very happy with the machine.

Update.
The dealer came out today and took the BX and the MMM back to the shop. He said this issue was "a problem on earlier machines" but he thought it had been corrected.
He said if the repair turned out to be a "big project" they would just replace the whole tractor.
Luckly the grass is growing slowly.
