BX2200 Air Filter Bracket

was cleaning my BX2200 and noticed that my Bracket that holds the Air Filter in place broke where it bolts to the engine. The bracket does not look like it was made that well as it is just a strap made of tin. Anyone else have this problem?

Yes, I did also while the tractor was under warrantee so the dealer ordered a new one.Same cheap tin strap,I was hoping that it would be improved.

I cranked up the bota and heard a rattle under the hood.
I stopped the engine, lifted the hood and found that the bracket that holds the air cleaner had broken at the base.

No big problem, it is just a strip of sheel metal wrapped around the plastic air cleaner.

I does make you a little ticked to see a strip of thin flashing materal used where a little bit heaver metal would have been just as easy to manufacture.

I made a temporary clamp using a strip of tie down strap for a trailer house which is probably better than the flashing strip Kubota used.

I did not bend it quite as sharp as the Kubota version, Their's was a hard 90 degrees.

The bend was at or in excess of 90 degrees.
I left the new bend slightly rounded.

I guess I am not the only one that had the strap break on them. I hope Kubota comes up with a better strap because the next one will also break within 200 hours of use.

JimC, My strap broke in the same place yours did.

I went over to the dealer today to buy a new bracket and the parts guy told me that the bracket should not have broke, so he gave me a new bracket and covered it under warranty. Of course I bought this tractor used from the dealer with 184 hours on it in July.
