I'm clearing sections of my woods and thinning trees. I wanted to move the trees without cutting them up into sections to save time. I cut down several 30' to 35' cedar trees one with a trunk 10" in diameter. It was so heavy, I could not even lift the trunk an inch to get the chain under it-- I had to dig a trench under to slip the chain around. Even though my BX was sitting on damp leaf covered ground, it pulled that tree along with no problem without slipping (equipt with turf tires). I did have to use full throttle but the tires never slipped. Next I used the front end loader to push those trees into a pile and compress them. The other nice thing about the BX is that since it is so compact I can manuveur it around between all the trees. Amazing machine!

The compactness of the BX won it for us. I'd wanted the 7500 narrow version but it wasn't offered in HST. Being that the BX is only a little wider but a lot lower it can get in and around the trees as well w/o needing to remove the ROPS. And I wasn't able to think of anything I'd need to lift that could justify the added 3pt and bucket caps. although the position control would be really nice. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

The power of these tractors amazes me in general; I have the B7500, which isn't too much different.
After I struggle moving and positioning any attachment to be hooked up, it's amazing how the tractor just lifts the attachment or moves it around so effortlessly.
Even if you have all three attachments on (FEL, MMM, rear blade) and it still doesn't even cause the tractor to burp, I think it's quite a feat.

That is a good perspective. Got me to thinking about shoveling, hauling and dumping wheelbarrow loads of rock that the tractor does for fun. Having grown up with full size tractors what is amazing is how well the compacts are designed and work. And they can go places the big ones would never fit. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

the bx is really manuverable in tight spots, next time instead of digging under to get the chain around the log, i just lift it with the FEL and then turn around and haul it out, works great. if you put the hook on the bottom of the log, you can then lift with the three point hitch and pull an awesome load.
