I asked the same question of Kubota Tech Service and they replied that there is no kit to add it to any tractor and that it has to be installed at the time of manufacturer. If we could get a parts breakdown, it might be possible, but would require a comparison of all the parts for the tractors with cruise and without cruise to know if every part that it attach's to is the same. Many times other standard parts are modified to accommodate the accessory. We have already learned that the engine is not the same and that the block heater from a 1800 will not fit the new 1830.....

Is the throttle on a BX all by foot control? On my neighbors' JD, it has both hand and foot control. What happens if you want to let the BX sit and run a generator off the PTO?
Otherwise, I fail to figure out why they have cruise control.

Ralph . cruise control operates the hst drive ,not the engine .
Basically you set your engine speed with the throttle then you contol your forward speed with the hst pedal or the cruise control lever . Hope this makes sense to you . All the best , John

On my Bolens, the throttle is hand controlled and the cruise uses a magnet that holds the hydro pedal where you set it. On the BX, the trottle is also hand controlled and the pedal works the hydrostat drive just like the Bolens. If you tap the brake, the cruise will disengage, but you only use the brake for parking on both the Bolens and the Kubota. I would like to know if the cruise on the Kubota is electrical or mechanical.

I fail to get it. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif I have some sort of cruise control on the B2410 and have, I think, never used it. I don't need it and I don't need it on the BX despite hours in the saddle on both units. I think that this is a fixation like the tachometer /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif. I have never found myself in a condition needing to set a constant spped for long enough to warrant a speed control.

I have to agree with you on it being next to useless unless you are cutting all day long. I have it on one of my Bolens, but have never had a need to use it.

Cruise is quite nice and very easy to set on most models. I find it useful for various jobs: using a setter for planting potatoes at creeper speeds, raking hay, or bailing to list a couple.
