Kubota BX 2200
Well after reading all the great information here and looking at a ton of tractors I put down my hard earned $$ on a BX 2200, and its coming on Thursday…YAHOOOOO. OK now my question, does anyone have a check list for things to review, check to make sure the tractor has everything and is operating properly? The dealer is two hours away and I want to make sure it works before I accept it. Thanks for your help in advance. The information here is just GREAT!!, now anyone want to buy a Case/Ingersoll Tractor??

Thanks

Tom

Congrats Tom! You're taking me back to my delivery day, sure was fun.

Assuming they deliver, and you are home to greet them (sounds like a good day to be... sick /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif ) have them give you a thorough run through. You won't remember everything, but bits and pieces will come back as you read manuals and try things yourself.

For checks, start with all fluid levels. Coolant, fuel, engine oil, transmission oil, front axle oil and any other oils there are.

If you are really into it, grab a wrench and check wheel lugs, loader brackets and various other obvious bolts. Not checking for torque, just grossly loose bolts.

Make sure the tractor has the features you ordered and they all work. You can engage PTOs and watch for movement at idle. Check tph function and loader if equipped. Check all the lights. Take it for a spin and verify brakes and throttle, transmission ranges and gears or HST.

There's probably more, but that'll give you a start. Good luck sleeping between now and Thursday /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Congratulations on the new BX. The best wish that I can send you is that I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

One thing to have them do: Have them completely remove the loader and put it back on. Two reasons...first is that it teaches you haow to do it, second is that I've seen them fit very tight in the mounting arms, tight enough that they don't come on and off very easy. This proves that it comes off as it should.

Be sure to check the level of the hydro fluid, seams many dealers forget to refill after adding the loader, leaving it a few quarts shy of full. Also check the front axle fluid level too...i've heard of it shipped low. Always double check the torque specs on the wheels and loader mounts as well (you can probably do this after they leave).

Congtats on the tractor, did you get a front loader? Rob & Charliebrn pretty much covered it. I also took the mower off and put back on at the dealers. Just run it through its paces and dont hesitate to ask them questions.
Good luck and keep us informed. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Tom,
Nice check list, It would be easy to forget something when the time comes. I just got the same setup 2 weeks ago and I still grinning /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif, you will love it, I debated about getting the loader now but thanks to the advice from the good people on TBN I went ahead and got it. Let us know what you think afer you get it home.
