Kubota BX2200
Was topping off my BX2200 in the shed and there was a little deisel left in the can so I squeezed it all in the tractor, put the cap on and made a mental note to pull it out and drive it a bit. Took the can to town, filled it up and then forgot about startting the tractor and left it in the 100degree plus shed.
The next day there was a pool of Deisel on the floor from the heat expansion.

So, I drove the tractor that day for 2 hours thinking it would be fine, but it is still slowly leaking some deisel from the left side under the seat.
I am assuming (and hoping) this was just some left over fuel in the vent, but am not sure. If there isn;t a vent, could the pressure have caused a fuel line to leak?
Anybody have some sage advice, Please?!?!?!?

Thanks
Rick

I made the same mistake once with my B2710; found a puddle of diesel under it the next morning. Other than cleaning up the floor where the tractor had been parked, washing the diesel off the tractor where it had run down, and remembering to not fill it so full in the future, I just didn't worry about it. Of course, after I washed and wiped off the tractor, I did watch to see if any more diesel was going to come out, and if so, where, but it didn't. So if yours is still leaking, I'd try to trace it to the source.

Hope it's not leaking from the top of your fuel tank at the gasket as per previous posts that I have seen on this topic!

Mine leaked and they fixed it no questions like it was a known problem

There was a recall on that model with that symptom, fuel leaking onto the left rear tire. If I remember correctly it was the sending unit gasket which was fixed by the dealer. If that service has never been done then that would be my bet. If my rusty brain serves me, the problem was only noticed when the tank was more full than empty. Can't remember the exact level.

I suppose it's possible that some fuel is pooled somewhere on the top of the tank and is slowly dripping down, too. Deisel doesn't evaporate as quickly as gasoline.

Rix,

Don't be so tough on yourself, it took me about 10 seconds to hit something (the dealer's trailer) with my new machine. Then I rolled a big log onto my hood at about 10 hours. :(

You might want to search the board (under Kubota Owning/Operating) for the words "fuel leak". The BX is famous for leaking around a fuel sending unit above the left rear tire. Overfilling might contribute, but it is a basic design flaw, not your fault.

Even if the sender unit leaks, you can use the tractor without problem - Just don't fill it to the top...

Everyone,
Thanks for responding. The dripping did stop. It was either due to overfilling at the vent, or the gasket near the top over the left rear tire. eitehr way, if I don't fill it up completely...No Problem.
Cheers

I had this same problem and thought that I too would just live with it and not fill it up to the top. However, after about 3 months of doing this, I found another problem with the "Just living with it" theory. I ran dry on fuel while the gauge still said I had 3/8 of a tank left. What I believe happened, is that as time passed, the sending unit became became tilted more and more allowing the float in the tank to bottom out and not go to its lowest posotion on the sensor. when I had taken everthing aprt to replace the parts I found the unit was tilted up about 1/2" on one side. The cause was found out after I had gotten a new gasket/mount and sending unit to install.
