There was a JD on Ebay when I was looking for a tractor that was a scam. I had seen the auction recently and had it bookmarked. I emailed the owner and we bid the tractor up to 1.2 million before Ebay cancelled it. The real owner wanted 11K for it. The scammer got mad at me and told me to mind my own business. I told him that if I was his father I would smack his butt till it was black and blue. I could tell by his language that he was just a little punk. I also forwarded his email address to the RCMP and his ISP for scamming.

Glad to see somebody called Ebay about it. There was a near-new JD-4010 (or similar) with accessories priced with no-reserve a month or two ago - some person had bid $3k or so with 5 days left. I emailed the seller and asked if I could come look at it. He replied in very broken English that it was located in Britain so I could not, but could ship it here in the U.S. for free. The guy had a bunch of pictures - which didn't match (some had R4 tires, some had ag, one was a 3PH from an 80's JD) so it was pretty clear it was a bogus ad.

I notified Ebay and they pulled it within a day.

Since this is my first post, I must say how much I appreciate these forums - have been looking for the last 3 months and learned a huge amount. My father-in-law has an old Ford 8N and he's given me the bug. Now I just need to buy a tractor, get some land, move to the country... Got the wife on the same page - just will take a year or so to do it.

Ebay must have pulled them, the links are not working now. At least one thing, ebay seems serious about enforcing it's policies and policing its users.
