A word to the wise: when changing the oil in the BX2200 go by the dipstick reading, not what it says in the owners manual.
I did the 100 hour oil change over the weekend (change just the oil not the filter). After I drained the engine oil I had to add well over 3 quarts of oil to bring it up to the top mark on the dipstick. That is in addition to whatever oil remained in the filter. Mine is a newer model BX2200 I bought it in October, 2001. Maybe they increased the oil capacity without updating the operating manual? It is way more than 2.6 quarts capacity. I don't know just how much more though because I filled it from a gallon jug of Delvac 1300 Super.
My dealer said to not trust the capacities book but fill it slowly and recheck oil level frequently, then check again after the engine has run for 5 minutes.
