i have been having trouble out of my loader
quick connects leaking. i noticed the quick
connects have changed to a different style
from my bx2200 to the new bx2350. of course
my dealer doesnt have any(old ones) and the hydraulic
shop only has the new style. that being said
i have removed the oring from inside the quick
connect and have found some that would
match any one ever tried this??

Hello Miker,

Yes, you can do this. Some qd manufacturers sell rebuild kits with the correct parts. There is also a back-up ring in there, but don't worry about it. If the male end is too beat-up, the o-rings won't do any good. If you have a good hydraulic shop around, get the o-rings there. They are a harder o-ring than in the generic kits. Generic kits carry the 70 durometer rings, all fittings use a harder o-ring, 90 durometer. Your 70's will probably work okay, just not as well or last as long.

Good luck, Andy.

The couplings on my BX2200 did that too. The dealer replaced them with a new larger size made by a different manufacturer. The ball bearings had ground little pockets on the male nipple. This caused the retraction ring not to seal as tightly. I bought mine in 2000 and this problem came up about 2 yr. ago

thanks andy and tom i will try the harder o rings.
i believe the guy at kubota said the coupling was
around $17.00 or so. i have been trying to fix up
a bx2200 hopefully this is it.

If you decide to replace the couplings, those things are torqued down really tight. You'll need two box wrenches of the correct size. They need to be really long or you'll need some heavy pipe of the right dia. as extenders for more leverage and torque. Adjustable crescents just won't get tight enough. They'll round over the soft hex corners. Also, you need a helper to keep any pressure from being transferred to the metal hydro lines. I pulled just slightly on mine and it bent then snapped. I tried doing this myself as I can do most mechanical things fairly well. This is one that I messed up on and had to let the dealer svc. people finish. I wish I'd've just taken it to them to start with. It cost me more in the end from snapping that line.
