I've got a BX2200 with FEL. I've removed & replaced it numerous times without difficulty. However, the manual says to use the loader to lift the front tires as part of the removal process. I can take enough load off the pins to pull them, but it won't lift the front tires no matter what I do. Could I be doing this incorrectly? Does having the brake on or off make a difference? (doesn't seem to).

Thanks,
- Patrick W.

I have removed my FEL a couple of times and have been able to lift the front tires off of the ground. But to do so I need to curl the bucket forward. With the bucket flat the FEL does not have the reach to lift the tires. Just play with the FEL on a flat surface (including curl) and you'll figure it out.

Curl the bucket down to lift the BX.. Make sure you have the RPM's up for the lift... Need it for pump pressure.. But, if you can pull the pins and pull the loader out of the socket then don't worry about it.....

Oh, I get it... You just want to see the FEL pick up the front of the tractor........ I wanted the same thing when I was first trying it out..... It will do nicely if you curl the bucket down and then lift up. If I am lifting, say a log up off the ground with a sling, I will curl the bucket all the way down so the opening is over the log or object and wrap the slong around the entire bucket and then lift...... Works fine....

I think the bucket has too much weight when it's streached out to lift alot....... Tom

You have to have the brake off. The loader will not pull the tractor forward as it needs to do with the brake on. I found this out on my B7500 and immediately thought something was wrong. After all, I had done it before. Took the brake off and it worked like a charm!!/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I've put the loader on & off my bx2200 doxens of times and have never raised the front wheels to do so. When I read your post, I didn't know what you were talking about, so I got out the loader manual and sure enough, it says to "raise the front wheels slightly". I am not sure why this would be necessary. In fact, doing so has to be putting pressure on the pins & making them hard to remove (just like you said). Like I said, I have never lifted the front end to get the loader off. The manual makes no sense.

Hmmm, if I curl the bucket 'down', so that the opening is facing the floor, and then try to lift the tractor, the bucket is forced 'flat', like some relief valve is set too low. FEL seems to work fine though. I'll have to try again making sure the brake is off.

I have never set my brake when operating the tractor except when when dis-mounting while on a slope. I wouldn't do it while un-mounting or mounting the loader either.. If something needs to move and the bucket doesn't want to I would prefer the tractor roll away abit under the stress. Just my thought.... Tom...

u need to curl your bucket, and then it will lift the tractor or at least it should lift the tractor.

I think I know what your problem is. First you need to uncurl your bucket down. YOur buckes should be able to do this and stay there with down pressure...if not, cycle the bucket up and down until the reliefs kick in...maybe you have some air in the system.

Then you have to put the HST range selector lever in N, not Fast or slow. I noticed early on that if the range selector is in gear that the hydraulics will not lift the front of the tractor off the ground, though it will give you enough pressure to take the stress off the pins so that you can remove them. I looked at the hydraulic schematic and it makes sense... when a range is selected, some pressure is diverted to the transmission whether you are moving or not.

The manual describes the angle to curl the bucket. Raising the wheels helps to positions the holes for easier removal. It actually takes pressure off the pins and forces the loader back tight into the bracket.
