Gheesh I wanted to add a front blade for snow plowing and mild dozing with the BX2200 and found out the blade is some $1200 or so and get this... You have to add $1000 worth of additional hydraulics.

If you have a FEL which I do, do you also need all these extra hydraulics? Kubota may be good, but my gosh they sure know how to rip you on options.

One of the reasons I went with the rear blade. I can either drive over the snow and clean up behind me or spin it around and push it while moving backwards. I agree, it shouldn't be so expensive to add a dozer blade, but it isn't just Kubota. Seen JD's prices???? /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Couldn't help it guys...

Yeah, I got the same price, $2200, but I think if you have the right valve on the FEL you can reuse it on the snow blower and the plow. That could save around $600. The blade is still a rip, my dealer thinks I should go with the rear blade for $300, which can also serve as a little ballast when using the FEL. The snowblower is even worse, I think it's over $3000.

I've got the FEL coming next week, with the valve that can be shared (I think).

DrDan,

If you have the 4way valve (not the standard 3way) with the FEL you can use it with the quick hitch. The dealer should have installed the quick hose couplers with the 4way valve. Then you can disconnect the FEL as normal on the left, and by removing the pins for the arm and ram on the right, leaving the joystick in place. When the quick hitch is mounted the hydraulic lines get connected to the joystick. This is then used to raise/lower the blade (or blower or sweeper).

As mentioned in another post it would be nice if Kubota offered a hydraulic valve to fill the open slot in the right fender. This could be used for the quick hitch and you could remove the loader and valve w/o the monkey business.

I hope you have the 4way valve as that will save you some bucks on the hydraulics.
