BX2200 going synthetic QUESTION

Hi all!

I'll keep this simple. I need to go synth because I store in an unheated shed, and I had alot of trouble starting when REALLLY cold.

I'd like to go with a WIX filter and synthetic oil. I cannot find the right WIX # for the BX2200. And I need a reccomendation for a good brand and type of synthetic oil for the BX2200.

Oil filter: Purolator PL14459 from Advanced Auto Parts or, if you're serious about extended oil change intervals and are willing to pay the price, the equivalent Mobil 1 filter (Auto Zone stocks 'em; same type as 1990 Acura Integra). Do NOT use Fram products of any sort!

Oil: Go to the local Wal-Mart and buy a gallon of Shell Rotella T synthetic (blue bottle).

I was thinking that you would be most interested in commonly-available products. Anything more exotic than the above will probably mean dealing with specialty distributors, MLM sellers, etc. etc. etc.

The Junkman has a block heater installed from the beginning when his BX was born. It is also kept inside the garage along with his prized 1964 Corvair Spyder. It has electrical service from his 100 Amp Sub Panel installed in the new BX garage. Presently it is resting comfortably alongside of the new BX snowblower and recently acquired wire feed MIG welder, with its auto darkening welders helmet on top of it. The electrically operated overhead door is ready to spring into operation at the first sign of any appreciable snow fall.. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
