My bx2200 starting leaking hydraulic fluid near the block. It looks like there was a relief or drain valve where the leak is. Can someone help me stop the leak?

My bx2200 starting leaking hydraulic fluid near the block. It looks like there was a relief or drain valve where the leak is. Can someone help me stop the leak?

Could you be more specific on the location? The hydraulic oil does not get pumped through the engine. Does it leak more with the engine running or engine off? Are you leaking from the HST (transmission)?
For ref. you sit on the HST. The engine drive shaft (always spins while it is running) goes into the HST and drives your main hydraulic pump.
If the leak is coming from the block, dripping off it, its probably engine oil or a leaky hydraulic line.
BE VERY CAREFUL looking while it is running becuase a hydraulic high pressure leak can inject you with oil. It isn't pretty how the clean you up at the ER. Your manual shows how to inspect the lines for leaks.

the leak is on the left behind the rear tire. It only leaks when the tractor is running. It appears that the leak is coming from what I would call a drain or plug that has no cap or plug in it. It is right behind where the fel tubes connect to the trans.

The alum. block that the FEL tubes connect to has 2 O-rings on the inside face. Its a good place to get a leak if the bolts work loose. The only leak that I ever had, was one of the fittings loosened at the block.

hey,
i have replaced every hydraulic line from the engine to the bucket and to the rear hydraulics due to wear through or damage at the fitting. i replaced with a heavier rubber line and wrapped a protective plastic around each hose where i had experienced the failure.
