Looks like I have a hose on the loader that has sprung a leak. Can anyone tell me the fitting size and thread type, I think the hose are 1/4" but I'd like to get some fittings from Surplus Center and use hoses with male or female ends instead of having expensive hose made up with expensive fittings pressed on. Also the quick connect fitting sizes would be nice if anyone knows. Thanks

They are 1/4" hoses with 1/4" fittings.

You can always go bigger, but never smaller.

When I replaced all my hoses a few years ago, I just got them custom made at my local shop. They gave me a deal because it was bulk amount. I did it in 3/8" double-sheathed hoses with 1/4" connectors.

Noticed no change in loader performance. The hoses are just much more beefier than the stock Kubota hoses. I expect it to last 2x a long as OEM.

Cost-wise, it was about the same... maybe a few bucks more I reckon? I wasn't by much for me to really care. Like within ~$20 at the end of the day. But I mean it was still a chunk of cash to get them all replaced, but it is peace of mind.

Take your hose to your local hydraulic hose shop. Decide if you want it a bit longer or shorter. They can fix you up while you wait and the cost is much less than the OEM Kubota hose and the quality is much better. I've replaced every hose on my bx and its loader. The power steering hoses are a pita so you don't want to be replacing them again! If you take off multiple hoses, color code the hoses and machine before removal so you aren't left scratching your head when you return with shiny new hoses. Don't ask me how I know that's a good idea.

Yes, they are 1/4" hose with 1/4" fittings, but there are JIC threads NPT threads and BPT threads, they have to match so I need to know the thread type so I can match the fittings to the cylinder and control valve. I've never bought Kubota hoses when I have replaced them, but I have had hoses made at the hydraulic shop and with fittings, they run like 30 to 40 some dollars for the less than two feet of hose with fittings. Some have been 45-degree fittings and some 90 degrees. I can buy the angle fittings that I need and just use straight hose from Surplus Center a lot cheaper than I can get them made at a hydraulic shop, but I need to know the thread type for the fittings. I probably wasn't clear enough in the original post. thanks

Each to their own, but if the last ones made 16~18 years, and if they are $15~$22 each form Kubota, I would buy the OEM, no work making them up, no extra fittings, no calculations, exact fit, but YMMV.

I agree or like other have said take then to a shop and have then made up why you wait.

Our B7500 has JIC fittings on all the hoses (other than the quick connects). Got them all from Surplus Center when we re-did the hoses.

Thank you for info, I've been the hydraulic shop route and the NAPA route before and because of cost and travel distance, I want to avoid that. I don't see why the fittings on the B7500 would be different than what Kubota uses on the subcompacts, unless I get a definite on the BX fitting threads. I will measure the hoses and order from Surplus Center. Thanks

Whenever a hose gives up on any of my hydraulic equipment I replace both hoses on the cylinder they're on regardless.
