Well, thanks to all of you guys! If it weren't for you I would never have known about this plate since the tractor didn't come with it. I have spoken to the dealer and he said they take them off when they put on the cab. I asked him to get me one along with the handles on the fenders (which they take off to install the cab as well) and he said he would.
I'll definately install the plate for the summer mowing season.
The cab will really help with the cold.....you might check the bolt in the fuel fill area outside the cab and saw it down to the top of the nut. That bolt will help you to loose weight by removing flesh if you dont. I used a sawsall to cut the bolt off flush with the nut and then filed it down to smooth it out.
Enjoy! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
If you saw the bolt off, you won't be able to reinstall the handles in the summer. Personaly speaking, I haven't had a problem with mine. I take my cab off in early spring every yr.
Hi Ray:
I thought about taking the cab off for the summer but between the wires, heater hoses (I have a Sims cab with the rear mounted heater) and all that good stuff I decided against it. I can always redirect the defroster so it blows on me....call that a poor man's AC.
I figure the cab is on for the duration!
I solved the disconnect problem. I have all the wiring going into an amphenol connector. It plugs into the side of the dash. The heater is connected via quick connects under the hood. The lights, wipers, heater, and stereo all disconnect in under 5 minutes. My tree branches are to low to mow with the cab on. In the summer I just use a chain hoist to remove the cab.
Ray....good thoughts....I may have to look into the quick disconnects for the heater hoses and the electrical....I have enough room in my garage to use my comealong and lift the cab off.....would be cooler!
The other alternative is to get a muck larger tractor with A/C and stero.....have to work into this slowly otherwise the better half will be using me for tire loading!
Thanks
Sorry to hear about being cold and crappy in Western NY. Here in Syracuse it's Summer today. Supposed to get up to 40F with some sun. Gotta find the Hawaiian shirt.
Seriously, do you have a snowblower? I know you replied to one of my posts, but don't think you said. I am waiting on delivery of a B7800 with rear SB, FEL, RM.
Kind of off topic, so you can Email if you would like.
