What is the correct model number for the oil filter for the BX2200 - the dealer gave me 70000-15241. Is this correct - the original filter is a tad longer and black and the new one is white. I want to make sure its right before I change it.

Scott: That's the one! At least I have changed the oil 7 times and used that filter (15241). You are right, it is white and smaller. I think it is a common Kubota filter for a number of tractors.
I just went out to the garage and checked , and that's the one.

Thanks so much - now if I can get the &^*% old one off I'll be set - I sure don't want to drive into town to pick up another oil filter wrench. This original one definitely was not hand tight plus 1/2 turn.

I ended up finding one after tearing up the garage for 15 minutes. When I bought the new filter, I stopped at an auto parts store and got one of those socket wrench type filter removers. Of course, it doesn't fit the filter on the tractor so that's when the question of the correct filter came up and the struggle getting the old one off. I guess now I'm set for future oil changes. Anyway, thanks again for the info on the filter. Why in the world would the original filter on the tractor be different than the replacement filters - seems strange/flawed? I can only quess the orginal from the factory is some older filter style that fits that Kubota is phasing out/depleting its inventory??

I had the same experience when I did the 50 hour service on my NH 29D last year. Took the replacement filter back to the dealer and said "You sure about this ????" Yup, there's the part # right on the drawing in the computer.

Engine made in Japan - new filter made in US...

Just guessing

MY DEALER STOCKS TWO OIL FILTERS FOR THE BX2200. A BLACK ONE FROM JAPAN AND A WHITE ONE FROM THE USA. WHITE ONE COST ABOUT HALF. I USE THE BLACK ONE , HAS A BETTER SEAL AND IT LOOKS LIKE A BETTER FILTER.

if i remember the number right 15231-32090 changes to 15231-32093 to 15231-32099 these are the japaneese filters. kubota usa has made in the u.s. a 70000-74034 which is the 70000-15241 any of these will work and are good filters.
