I ended up finding one after tearing up the garage for 15 minutes. When I bought the new filter, I stopped at an auto parts store and got one of those socket wrench type filter removers. Of course, it doesn't fit the filter on the tractor so that's when the question of the correct filter came up and the struggle getting the old one off. I guess now I'm set for future oil changes. Anyway, thanks again for the info on the filter. Why in the world would the original filter on the tractor be different than the replacement filters - seems strange/flawed? I can only quess the orginal from the factory is some older filter style that fits that Kubota is phasing out/depleting its inventory??
