There are none of the limitations you mention for your 7500 on the BX. I'm wondering if it's because you have the HSD, not the HST?

Okay, now I'm confused. I thought both had the same drive systems with the exception of the clutch. I actually looked at the BX2200 VERY seriously before settling on the 7500 and their shtick is that they are pretty much the same tractor. Sorry, I didn't realize they were different.

Again, and not being argumentative, but you can in fact run the BX mid PTO or it's rear PTO independently or both at the same time and there is no "gear" limitation. Do you have a gear drive 7500? or something like that? The hydro 7500 I demoed for a few days did not seem that different from the BX but then I did not use all of it's functions/features in that short time. J

No, I have the hydrstatic drive model. I know it sounds odd and I haven't actually used the rear PTO so I can't verify this from my own experience. I have howevere read the manual no less than 10 times as this makes no sense to me. You gotta understand that when I was waiting for my tractor I thought I was getting a rear bagger just like the BX2200 which runs off of the rear PTO whereas mine actually runs off of one of the mower blade heads. So I was looking for a way to run the mower by itself. It's not possible. Not only that but you have to mechanically move a metal piece which for some reason prevents the PTO from going into second to run both PTO's at the same time. Then the Kubota manual tells you that you should put it back when you're done using it. It doesn't really cause me any trouble but I sure would like to understand why it was built this way.

Not running the 7500 down or anything but the mower system on the 7500 is one of the reasons I returned it and got the BX instead. If a person wants a small tractor primarily for grading and loader work and occasional mowing then get the 7500 but if a person wants a small tractor for primarily mowing and occasional loader/dirt work then get the BX because the suspended mmm/bagger/remove-install/adjustability is superior--my opinion. In any case, I am sure that once you figure out the idiosyncracies of your new machine you will enjoy it greatly and it will do you a fine job. Be happy-- You can always trade up for a BX. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif. J

Too cruel!!! I did at first intend to buy the BX but at the last minute the fear that it would not be enough got me. The problem is there is no opportunity to REALLY try these machines out before purchase. Now I don't know what kinda dealer you have but mine here weren't exactly brimming over with the "try it and if you don't like it you can trade it in" talk. Heck, my local dealer queered my first deal on the fact that he didn't have the tires I wanted. I told him to let me know when he expects one with the tires I wanted. That was 3 weeks ago and no phone call yet. I ended up buying on online. Isn't there a recession???? But I digress...
