The gearbox on my 60"mmm pretty much exploded last time I mowed...not sure what caused it but i heard all this racket from below and when i shut off the mower and looked most of the gears, races, shims and bearings had decided to exit the gear box. about all i could salvage was the 2 main shafts and the gear box itself. My dealer wanted $2200 to fix it and $1200 for a complete gear box so I opted to buy the parts for $700 and attempt the rebuild myself. Doesn't appear all that difficult but I'm wondering if anyone in here has done this and may have tips for me? Any info or a point in the right direction would be helpful!
