I now have 22 hours on my BX2200 and the biggest item that disappoints me is the seat. The seat is very uncomfortable and it moves back and forth about a 1/4". Have any of you BX owners figured out a way to remove the play in the seat? I have been thinking about bolting my seat into position. This is a real annoying problem which could only be appreciated by someone spending time on the tractor.

I now have 46 hours on mine, and don't have the seat movement. What I have noticed is that when you release the seat adjustment lever, the seat doesn't necessarily lock into position. That is, sometimes I have to jiggle the seat while pushing the lever towards the locking direction (after my sons are kind enough to readjust it for dad /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif). When it clicks in, I have no discernable movement (outside of what the springs allow for lateral rock).

Roy, Thanks for the reply. The latching lever on my seat must be under size. Because my seats moves at least 1/4".
Maybe I'll try to remove the lever and build it up by welding on it.

Jon;
Before going to an extreme, have a dealer look at it. May be something simple (e.g. misalignment). One of the advantages of buying new, there is always the warranty.

If the seat is moving about 1/4 inch make sure its latching both sides. make sure the whole seat is moving and not just one side. It may just take adjusting it where it bolts on the tractor.

Wow!!!!

Responding to a 19 year old post. Might be a new record.:laughing:

Good advice, hopefully the original poster doesn't need it.

I had a BX2200, I used it with the original seat for too many years. I finally looked into changing the seat, found out that if I had complained sooner, Kubota would have offered me a replacement seat. I ended up buying a seat from K&M Manufacturing, holy Mary mother of God what a difference!

Maybe a time machine! I couldn't get my BX2200 up to 88 MPH, the Flux Capacitor may have had some issues too!
