Have searched as best I can but can't find any conclusive answer so apologies if I am repeating previous posts.
Problem - engine runs when on starter motor but when key released to run position it quits. Half hour before this happened the slow blow 50A fuse blew tho I just shorted it to get things going again (possible mistake!)
Removed stop solenoid and engine runs fine. Measured voltage at solenoid connector, 12volts on red/black wire with key in run position, 12v on white wire when on starter crank position, black wire rings out to earth. Checked ignition switch all appears normal. The drawing I have shows a timer relay I can't find it and not sure what it does.
My understanding is that the red/black wire is energised and when the white wire is energised from starter motor the solenoid retracts when the starter is released the 12v on the red/black wire 'holds' the solenoid retracted. I tested the solenoid with a 12v supply and got the above findings. Also tried a new solenoid and not surprisingly same result.
Is there possibly a blip in the 12v supply to red/black wire as key is turned back and thus allowing the solenoid to extend?
Can't figure it out at all any ideas?
