BX2200 Tiller

Anybody have the Kubota tiller for the BX2200? What did it cost? How does it work, and how easy is RR?

Tired of fighting with the Troy Bilt...

I looked at the Kubota Tiller, but the price was rediculous at the time. The dealer suggested the Howard HR-3 50", at a much better price. The brochures have it on the back of a BX, and the color even matches perfectly...it's almost as if it was designed for the BX exclusively, but I know better. I've really put through the paces and haven't had any troubel at all with it. It handles our rough clay just fine as long as it isn't real wet, which will bog down just about any tiller. I highly recommend it...and if I remember right, it cost about $1300... I have some pics at home of it in action if you are interested....

I have a Landpride 1542 for my BX. Cost was fairly high (well north of $1500) but there you go. The other options werent attractive for a number of reasons.

These things work by hooking up to your PTO shaft. The rotating shaft connects to a gearbox that changes the shaft direction by 90 degrees. This usually then hooks to a set of gears or chain drive that spins the rototiller shaft below. The shaft has rotating tines that beat the soil to death.

Here is a pic of the Howard HR-3 50" on the back of my BX. Here I am tilling our small garden up close to the house. the back garden/field still to wet to till....

I do store it on a dolly in the shed, which does make it much easier to store in the shed.
