I just purchased 10 acres in central Illinois. To give you some perspective, it is 330 ft of frontage and about the first two acres is cleared and then it goes about 8 acres back in nice hard woods. Approximately 6 acres back into the property, the ground slopes down gradually to a nice 6-8 ft wide creek that winds through the woods, and then the property elevates to the back few acres. This is something my wife and I have been looking for, for quite some time and are planning to build a home in a couple of years. I'll be making and maintaining a 6 foot wide hiking path through the woods and a bridge to cross the creek. I'll have some brush cutting regularly in one area of the property plus all the yard and landscaping work, winter plowing, lane making, ect. I told my wife that I was going to need to get a tractor. She agreed and said, we'll go to Sears and get you a nice Craftsman. I chuckled and said, "I have been doing some reading on this informative discussion forum for Kubota tractors online", and then handed her the BX2200 brochure I had recently obtained from the Kubota Dealer locally(after I sat on the thing and wanted to take it home). She said do you need something that big?? We had a short discussion and I got the necessary blessing. Thanks for all the info. I will be hanging out in here more often, upon my purchase.

Congrats on the BX, you will love it. Please inform your wife that a "nice" Craftsman "tractor" she was going to get you is nothing more than a "tractor" styled lawnmower and about as useless. You did much better getting the BX. Wait till you give the FEL a whirl, y'all gonna have fun. J

That sure sounds like a great piece of property you picked up. I'm sure the BX2200 will find a good home there. As Trescrows mentioned the FEL is one of the nicer attachments to operate. If this is your first tractor you'll be amazed at the work it will do. Enjoy the experience.

Rook,You are one of the few around here that has already admitted to "Getting the necessary blessing" from your other half.

I will have to remember that phase the next time I "Feel the need" for a new piece of equipment!!!

Sounds like a great piece of land and a good little tractor to work with.

You will love your BX Adam, it's a pretty solid little tractor. BTW, it also keeps its value very well so no problems when you wish to sell it or trade it in on a bigger Bota.

I just put 30 hours on my new BX. My wife told me to buy a tractor "everyone would want to drive". The BX is that. Now how do I get everyone else off so I can play on it? I couldn't be happier.
