I HAVE A BX2200 THAT RAN GREAT UP TO HAVING 25 HOURS ON THE MACHINE. AROUND THIS TIME THE BX2200 WOULD LOSE POWER AFTER ABOUT 45 MINUTES TO 1 HOUR OF OPERATION. I TOOK THE BX BACK TO THE SHOP. THE DEALER HOOKED IT UP TO THE DYNO MACHINE, THEY COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM. THE BX RUNS GREAT WHEN YOU FIRST START IT UP(COLD). IT SEEMS LIKE IT HAS ALL SORTS OF POWER, AS YOU MOW OR TILL WITH IT THE POWER GOES AWAY. A SMALL INCLINE GIVES ME PROBLEM ANYMORE.WHEN I LOSE POWER I WOULD HAVE TO SLOW DOWN OR COME TO A STOP AND ALLOW THE ENGINE TO COME BACK UP TO SPEED.THE FUEL FILTERS HAVE BEEN CHANGE THREE TIMES.I CAN TAKE A SHARP TURN WITH THE MMM ENGAGE AND THAT WILL PULL THE ENGINE SPEED DOWN.I CAN GO UP A SMALL INCLINE WITH THE MMM ENGAGE AND NOT ACTUALLY CUT GRASS AND THE ENGINE SPEED WILL COME ALMOST TO A STOP.IS THIS NORMAL FOR THIS BX2200 AND AM I EXPECTING TO MUCH OUT OF IT.TODAY THE FUEL TANK STARTED LEAKING . I HAVE 175 HOURS ON THE MACHINE AND I HAVE BEEN DISAPPOINTED IN THE MACHINE. I NEED HELP PLEASE.
ANY SUGGESTIONS.

Sounds like fuel probhlem or maybe something like a blown head gasket....although a head gasket problem should be noticeable right off.
There was a thread recently about the fuel solinoid valve on a couple of units shorting out. This solinoid is supposed to either allow the fuel to flow to the engine or not. Go no go. Maybe afer a while it is beginning to close....just a thought. Fuel pump problems could manifest themselves this way as well.
Is the temp gauge staying in your normal range? Is there enough coolant in the radiator?
The bx 2200, I have one, has one tough motor so it should not crap out after a while of use.
Hope your dealer can get it fixed!

Being a diesel it pretty much has to be either starving for fuel or starving for air. More than likely it is starving for fuel. The fuel solenoid is a good place to start knowing its history of premature failure. I highly doubt it is a high cost problem, just a major aggravation.

Good Luck!

Another thought.....did the dealer or you replace both fuel filters? maybe one is plugged! just a thought

Fuel tank cover may not be venting properly and is creating a vacuum as it is sucking fuel from tank. Try running with cap a little loose and see if problem still occurs if it does not then problem solved.

---The way you say the engine acts definitely sounds like a fuel problem. Bummer on the tank - I'd heard that they had problems in the past with them but my dealer said they have since been fixed. What year is your machine? I just got my BX2200 and only have about 4 hours on it - mostly mowing - but mows fine. Sounds like your fuel is not free flowing. Maybe the tank has a crack in it causing a loss of suction?

Sorry I can't be of more help,
