On my 2230, whenever I raise the 3-point/mower deck, it will come up smoothly to about 75% of the way. Then I have to release the lever and pull it again to come up some more, one more repeat of this will finish the lift. Fluid is at the right level (with less than 50 hours on the fluid and filter since last service).

Suggestions? It seems to have plenty of power, behavior is the same whether there is nothing on the 3 point and MMM is removed or if the MMM is mounted and a BIG ol' oak log is on the carryall. Raising to full height is always a 3 step process.

Yep, mine does it too. Not sure it's ALL the time though. Always figured there was a stick where it didn't belong or the turnbuckles were bound up, or something. Been meaning to investigate it for several hundred hours now ...

Does the lever return to the neutral location, and then you have to pull up on it again? Or does it stop with the lever in the 'up' position and you have to put it back to neutral and then back to the 'up' position?
Mine was returning to the neutral position before it was fully up. It ended up being the auto return mechanism binding up. It's under the seat on the right side. Just move the control lever to find the mechanism. Mine was binding as the rod went through a steel block with a hole in it (or something like that... it was a while ago!). Anyway, some grease on the rod and it's worked right ever since.
good luck,

If I let it go, it returns to the neutral position. I have tried holding the lever in the up position, though, and it still stops. Then you have to return it to neutral and then back to the up position before it will move again. I did see the little block with the springs on either side that you mention. Won't hurt to hit that with a little grease to see if it helps.

mine does the same thing. i would not worry about it.

I also played with the springs. They control the tension so the lever returns to the neutral position. If they’re too loose it won’t return too neutral. If too tight it returns to quick and the implement won’t raise or lower all the way unless you bump it like in your case. Like I said I messed around with it and got it close but I can still lift my deck up higher by bumping it.
