Apologies in advance if this is a dumb question, but I'm one of those mechanically challenged types.
I bought my B2230 as a package deal with a Land Pride rotary mower/brush cutter, and the two have worked fine together since I bought them last spring (after adding some counter-balance weights in the front) . Recently, however, I was looking in the BX manual for some unrelated information, and came across a section that seems to indicate that the maximum weight for a rotary mower in the rear is 300 lbs. -- but the Land Pride mower is about 430 lbs.
Should I not use that hefty mower? Do I risk doing damage to the PTO or the 3 pt hitch? I've been hauling it around some reasonably steep terrain without much difficulty so horsepower doesn't seem to be an issue (and the Land Pride manual says the minimum tractor hp is 20, so I'm okay there).
When I bought the package, I knew absolutely nothing about tractors and basically trusted the dealer to get me the right type of add-on equipment. Am I, like, a complete idiot?
