bx2230 oil filters

Does anyone know why Kubota lists two different oil filters for the bx 2230. The one that came on the tractor is smaller than the one (#70000-74034) they gave me to change. They list #15853-32430 to fit the bx2230 also. With the lack of room I have to work with I don't believe a larger filter with fit in there anyway. I am going back to my dealer tomorrow and ask. I also have to have a filter wrench that fits on a ratchet or I will never get this off.

Steve; i am going to guess that the filters come from different manufacturers. I, too, have been getting the larger ones from the dealer and I don't like them. I keep forgetting to buy a cap filter wrench to fir them, and growl /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gifevery time I change them. I think I will try to find the smaller ones from carver or Tractorsmart.
I have found that removing the side panels will allow you to use a band wrench or a strap wrench on the filter.

I went back to the dealer and got the smaller one. Both were Kubota filters. I will now try to find a wrench to get the old one off with. thanks for the help.
