Just took delivery of new bx 2230 and I am having trouble turning the seat around to use backhoe. The seat turns part way and then catches on a bolt, is it me or is the seat put together wrong?
Did you mean a BX23? A BX2230 doesn't have an integral backhoe, and I don't think the seat swivels.
On a BX23, after you lift up on the front bracket, the seat should rise up, and you should be able to flip it around without any obstruction. Then you have to reach underneath the seat to unlatch a slider, which then allows the seat to pivot down towards the rear of the machine to latch down again.
I see that you have the woods backhoe on a 2230. I beleive there is a seat modification that you have to install. Your tractors original seat does not swivel.
With the Woods seat modification you need to first pull up on the seat, the seat will raise a bit, then you can swivel it to the back and set it back down. If the seat is down it won't swivel all the way around, it does catch.
Thanks for the info. The seat did lift and then spin, it was a little stiff the first time but now it works fine. Hate to pull to hard on new toys until your sure.

Why did you get a BX2230 instead of the BX23 ?
Reason for bx2230 over bx23 was price. dealer had this one from a special order, buyer changed to a larger tractor. After looking into it I liked the Woods hoe better and the fixed roll bar being lower will let me get under trees a little eaiser. All in all turns out to be like getting a made to order bx23. Now all I need is more time to play with it.

1*Sounds like the Bx2230 worked out well for you,but it didn't go that way for me when I got my tractor.
When I bought my BX23 the price on the BX2230 was as follows.
$8100 BX2230 Tractor
$2300 FEL
$1300 60'' MMM
$5300 Woods BH.
------------------------
Toptal $17000 compared to the $15500 I paid for the BX23.
2*I took care of this by trimming off any branches that the ROPS would catch on.
3*Hope you find more seat time and have a blast with your BX2230.
