I changed the transmission oil and filter on my BX2230, as well as cleaned the trans filter/screen as part of maintenance every 300 hours. I purchased 2.5 gallons of Super UDT2, as well as an additional quart as the manual calls for 2.7 gallons for a fluid change. I put the 2.7 gallons in and ran the tractor motor for a few minutes as directed in the manual. I then checked the level, but it wasn't on the dipstick. I poured the remaining 6-7 ounces from the extra quart in as well, and it looks like now I am just under the low level line on the dipstick.
So I looked in the manual for clues on checking the transmission fluid level as a general maintenance item, and it said the implements should be lowered. I have a mower deck on the tractor, and I lowered it, but because of the wheels on the deck, I suppose it doesn't "completely" lower. My question is - Should I pull the deck off to completely lower the hydraulics and recheck the fluid level, or just buy another quart of UDT and top it off as is? I don't want to overfill it though. I appreciate any tips. Thanks
