BX2230 will not start

When I got off last, the tractor kind of spit and sputtered, so I manually turned off the key. Now it will not start back up, thinking it might be the seat safety swith (recently I had noticed on rough ground that the tractor would try and cut off on occassion) I purchased a new switch, and installed, couldnt get 2, so I have tried interchanging thte swithces with no luck. still the same. with hood open, a solenoid (on left top of engine wants to activate? proper term, goes in and out with some noise. Any help?

Sounds like one of the many other safety switches are activating? Pto switch something? Not sure how many saftey switched are on your machine, but that sounds like the solenoid that shuts the engine down when switch or key is activated.

PTO not totally dis-engaged. Tractor fires up now. Searched through other posts and found lots of info, great forum, time to get to work.
