I think R-4s are sort of hybrid between turfs and ag bars (R-1's). For BX I love my ags. They do not hurt the grass (in 2WD anyway) and I spin them all the time pulling ground-engaging equipment. I doubt the R-4s would perform as well.
But for guys operating on pavement (you snowblower types), the R-4s may be a desirable compromise.
I am not aware of any R-4's for the BX23 8" wheels. Seems I heard there is only one supplier for the 8" R-1's. The prospect of putting 10" wheels (BX24) on the BX23 has been discussed in some threads, but I think some guys said there might be interference problems. Can't remember the details - I'm old and breathing too much diesel fumes lately.
