Hey all!

STILL doing transmission exchanges to get last of water out. This time, the trans filter (Kubota brand) had failed. The inner perforated tube had collapsed into the center, folding a bit and pulling a glue line off the filter 'top' (with the threads). Bad part, bad tractor?

Changed both fuel filters. 1st, rear, had red or brown gunk pour right out of the inlet, from a plastic tank. I use 'street' diesel, typically greenish. Suggest a source for red/brown goo?

THX guys

Water getting into oil or grease leads to brown goo...

And people "only use OE" branded filter because they expect them to be good. Did something happen to this machine like a flood?

No flood, I didn't realize a flex spout seal had failed, poured it right in myself. TLB, so, so many quarts in so many places.

No damage to outer can at all. The perf part (that you see in the filter mount hole) was perforated, I do not see how it could have held pressure to fail.
