I Like the way you secured the blade without using a binder. Commercial version on giant buckets always use some kind of binder to secure the blade. A binder would really stick out on a small bucket.

its a tight fit maybe only 1/4 inch to play with, since i have never seen one on a big bucket i was going off of the pics i saw of the balde on the net. origianlly i was going to pull the chain around the hook but that left to much slack so i came up with the clevis.
I must say i used it for about 2 hours today to clean up a site im working at and its amazing how good it works, its like a multi tool depending on how you angle the blade.

Excellent!!! I'm guessing the slightly loose fit allows it to find it's own happy place when you're not dead perpendicular to the slope (?)

Nice. I've seen that done lot's on bigger excavators, usually with a thumb. They just grab a section of I beam and have at it.

if i built another one i would allow a little bit more slop in the movement from side to side. This one is a little tight but still allows for some movement on an angled area.
where I welded the gussets in place on the outside of the bucket if those were maybe 1/2" bigger it would allow it to move more, i just didnt want the thing to have problems staying on. the only other thing i dont like is the fact that you have to sit on the ground holf the blade up with your toes, chain in one hand and try and screw the thing together with the other hand. but its worth it !!! its real nice being able to see exactly what you are doing and adjust the movements as needed, kind of like being able to see what your loader is doing to each inch of ground while its happening, with the added feature of power from the bh. i bet you could make one for a bx larger than the 20" i did but thats all the blade i had left, the thing does not seem to use that much effort to operate, i wish i would of had it when i did 500 feet of septic line !!!!

bend to fit pait to match (out of paint cover it with dirt)
