I'm interested in a back blade for crowning my gravel driveway.
I can't find a back blade which can tilt.
That is drop the right hand side and raise the left hand side.
Does anyone make a blade that does that for a BX23.
Can the 3 PT hitch tilt it enough to do it ?
This really needs a hydraulic cylinder to do it.

John Deere Frontier RB10. One tilt position left or right.

Might have to use your lift arm tilt if you need smaller angles.

I have a woods blade that tilts and i believe land pride makes a blade with tilt hydraulic or mechanical .

Dont you have the turnbuckle on one side of your 3pt? that is what mine has for tilt. granted its a pain to adjust all the time, but it enough to make a crown and get the job done. why would you want a backblade unless you are putting down a new layer of gravel? If you want to adjust the current driveway, a 40-48" boxblade using your manual tilt on 3 pt will do the trick much better then a 60 inch back blade would. The boxblade has rippers to loosen the gravel as you pull and you can actually level out the potholes if any so it will lock in instead of filling in the holes with backblade only to have it reoccur.

A hydraulic side link would make the grading much, much easier. if you will be using a box blade, then a complete top and tilt set is the best way to go. But then with either of these you need to come up with some rear remotes.

I don't think that you will find any hydraulic actuated rear blades as small as what is needed for a BX.

I have a Land Pride RBT 1560 which tilts. It is their smallest tilting blade. But I agree with Radioman's comments. I find the box blade a much better tool for maintaining the gravel drive. I use the turnbuckle to drop the right side as low as I can. Start on the right side of the drive and go down it with the scarficers down and come up the other side and just keep working to the middle. Once you get the hang of using the top link to control how much material you are moving, it is pretty easy to get it smooth. You need to be able to break it up with the scarficers though or pot holes will just re-appear.

I use the rear blade to push snow, occasionally dig a ditch or fill one back in, but that is about it. Much better for snow pushing than the box blade, but not near as good on driveway maintenance.

How does a York Rake with wheels, scarifiers and angle adjustment compare with a box blade ?

Tilting back blades are not available for the BX series specificly because the tilting mechanism takes up some height, and having one makes the blade too high to lift much if at all with the limited height of the BX. I'm not sure that one would work too well on my B2620 for the same reason. I have used the adjustable side link to tilt my box blade, and that works well, but one must have a blade that is wider than the tractor for the best results when tilting. Mine is 48", and the same width as the tractor but I sure have enjoyed using it on my tractor for some heavier "work". I'm finishing up some chipping now, but the BB is going back on when I'm done......... if the neighbor doesn't want his old raspberries tilled under yet. He likes my tiller, and chipper as much as I do. :D He also keeps my 3 1/2 acre yard looking good when I'm not feeling so good from treatments, etc. so he is more than welcome. ( he has a pretty new Massey 1529, but truth be known, he likes my smaller, and lighter tractor for those chores better) I do too. :D :D

Thanks Chuck.
My JD950 has a crank to tilt the 3 point hitch.
Very convenient.

I find the JD950 too big most of the time.
Especially getting the woods 750 backhoe off.
