BX23 \"TOP\" position of cutting height control

Anybody got an idea how to free up the knob on the cutting height dial? Mine is cranky about going in and out of the TOP position. All other positions are smooth. I am doing this just like I did on my BX2200 with the lift at full height position. The shaft has an overall "flimsier" feel to it in all positions than the 2200 had.

Are you taking it to full position, then after letting off from the raise lever, raising it one more time? My unit doesn't ever go to the full position on the first lift attempt and if I try to lock or unlock doing that it is very hard. If I bump it a second time, it works just fine.

I think it is all in the adjustment of the deck, but don't want to mess with mine again unless the cut starts to look bad. Setting up the first time was a time consuming ordeal /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Well I do this, I move the lever to raise and lower the deck and then turn the knob at the same time. That is the only way it goes smooth.
