Has anybody considered trying to alter the bx23 brake system to use the brakes as truning brakes? I use my tractor to backdrag a lot and would like to have more directional control. This would also help with snow removal with the back blade. I really dislike having to stop and realign the direction of travel.

Forget it, the BX series uses a wet brake in the drive case. It is located before the differential, so what you propose is just not possible.

Yes, the BX23 has wet brakes. It also has two sets of brake discs, one set on each axle, just like on larger tractors. I think a linkage alteration and another pedal would provide some turning control.
