I have 2 payments left on my BX23 (168 hours)! Sadly, that means it's out of warranty too. I currently have the following problems:

1. Broken air filter mount. I know, common.
2. electrical: the machine is left out doors and all 3 rocker switches are having problems. The blinker switch keeps the lights blinking no matter the position, the headlight switch has a mind of its own. I unplugged them and to date have not been concerned. Assume its just switches.

However, I should get this stuff all fixed up before April comes around and I lose the warranty. I also am planning on selling it this summer after I finish a few remaining projects.

Heres my problem, I did not buy it locally, and the last time I had the tractor serviced (50 hour) they charged me 250 for pick up and drop off. Can I get this stuff serviced without hauling it to the dealer?

That would be surprising if they would just hand over new rocker switches as a warranty item without inspecting the tractor themselves. You didn't have a 100 hour service? And no buddies with a trailer? You could take off the FEL, BH, and MMM and put the "bald" tractor in a fairly modest trailer. It is only 1200# at that point.

As an aside, I keep my tractor INSIDE (bought new off a crate at the dealer, so it hasn't seen much moisture) and my headlight switch has not functioned for a month. POS, it would seem.

JHB, these are problems that can be handled at home.

1-You can easily remove the filter mount. After that, you can show it to a dealer and ask for a warranty replacement; if he refuses, just weld it back together.

2-The rocker switches are easily lifted from the dash; they can then be separated for servicing. Take a look at the metallic contacts inside the switches, and scrape them clean. If that fails, you can always order a new switch from the dealer.

There was a thread a while back where someone installed water proof marine grade replacement rocker switches... probably only wanted to deal with the problem only once.

Leaving the tractor out 27/7 has caused the switch problem .
