Grizzly 660 Kioti DK45SE Cab
First time on this site.Looking to purchase small compact tractor for light work on our property.I understand that the BX23 is good value for the money, would there be other machinery on the marker similar to Kubota BX23? I'm shopping around. Thanks, Charlie from Canada.

The Massey-Ferguson GC2310 is very similar to the BX23, in fact some of the specs may be slightly better, or so I've heard. I've never seen one myself, but I've seen posts here on TBN by some very satisfied '2310 owners. I think someone mentioned a similar New Holland outfit that either is available or coming soon -- I'm sure others will fill in the details on this.

Massey GC2310 is the only comparable tractor in the class of the BX23. It is very similar in size. You leave the 3 point hitch in place when the backhoe is on and the Massey engine is rated at a lower RPM 2600 compared the Kubota (about 3200 RPM). Both are excellent machines. I feel the Kubota fit and finish are more refined although you have to remove its 3 point hitch to attach the backhoe. I think Iseki makes the tractor for Massey and their engines and tractors run very smooth. I would compare both to see which appears better to your likes and comfort. Again both are very good machines.

Thanks for the input Rimmer, greatly appreciated. I looked in to the GC2310 TLB and I have to agree both machines are quite compatable.

Could be wrong. But doesn't Kioti offer the CK 20 ,which is roughly in the same spec range ??

Thanks Nik for the input, I like the idea that the GC2310, 3 point hitch stays in place. I have seen the BX23 but the Massey Furgerson dealer did not have GC2310 in stock. I have to admit the BX23 is impressing.

Is the Kioti CK20 a lot heavier in weight compared to GC2310 and BX23?

CAG,

The BX or similar sized tractors may be perfect or less than you need, it depends on what you actually want to do.

If you give a little more info about your needs, members here may be able to give you additional advice.

They will probably say buy bigger! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I know you said light work, but once you have your tractor you will be surprised how much work you can dream up. Things you would never have attempted before, will happen almost in a blink of the eyes...

Enjoy the selection process... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The BX 23, so far, seems like the right size for travelling on a barge as we own property on an island. The tractor would be used for filling holes, cutting grass, and the hoe would be of great use for removing old stumps.

They have cars now that can swim, why not just put a prop on your PTO? I recomend the 4 bladed one!! Then you can get any size tractor and have the tractor pull the barge!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

OK all kiddin behind. For what you need the sub-compact will do just great for you.
