BX230 Engine RPM to get 540rpm

Mines a 2008 with digital tachometer, that said what's engine RPM to get 540RPM for MMM?

Doesn't it change the display when you start the PTO or something?

I did found the operators manual and they say on the specs:

PTO 540 RPM at 3142 engine RPM
Mid PTO 2000 RPM at 3043 engine RPM

NO change on display. When I purchased back in 2008 I asked the dealer what RPM to run for MMM or FEL and he said always run WOT! I usually run about 2500rpm as I fell it's "happy" there?

Using the exact PTO RPM is not critical in most cases and often you can run a tiller or a mower at much less RPM while achieving the same results for less noise and fuel consumption.

Also, you don't need to run the engine at WOT all the time. Just adapt the engine RPM to the work you're doing. If you feel better run with less RPM, just do it.

It would be a bit more critical running high RPM if your tractor had a Diesel particulate filter, but it doesn't so you can run whatever rpm you like.

I never bothered with exact rpm's for pto use on previous tractors, but with my current tractor's pto display I tend to set it at 540 just because.
The display does come in handy for using a pto generator that specs 515 rpm. Even for that use I tweak the throttle to get 60hz on a plugin gauge.

I run my BX2370 at 3K RPM while mowing my 2 acres. It never bogs, but I am only cutting 4-5 inch tall grass, at 3 inches. Not sure were peak HP and torque is on my engine. but it does a great job at that rpm, so that is what I use. Does anyone have a dyno chart showing max HP and torque rpm ? If so, it would be nice to see a copy of it.
