I picked my new radiator cover from the dealer today. To recap, I hadn't even had a serious complaint, but he remembered at delivery of the tractor that mine didn't fit snug, so he ordered me one under warranty...called me and swapped me.

there isn't a lot of difference in looking at it...the bottom pegs built into the new one are longer, but man, what a difference! the new cover fits perfect and is snug as can be...the old one would come loose at the bottom as you used the tractor. That sure won't happen anymore, that's for sure.

I attached a pic for comparison of the old and the new.

Oh, and by the way, the dealer also offered to order me a new rear fender, even though my existing one isn't broken. I've spoken with him in the past, told him I'm careful about not jumping on the tractor...apparenly he relayed that to his rep, and the rep told him to just take care of it...order the replacement for me. I was surprised he would to this with such a big part, but reaffirms my confidence in Kubota. I asked about the others out there with them, and my dealer assured me that Kubota would cover these long after the "official" warranty runs out...he expected something like 7 - 10 years.

He did get in another shipment of BXs by the way, and the new ones did come in with the new fender design and the new radiator covers...so this stuff will quickly become a non-issue.

Thank you Kubota...I know you read these.... :)

Oh..I got the name wrong for the picture of the 2 covers...the old cover is the one without the screen in it...the dealer moved the screen from the old one to the new one before I took the pic.

PS: The part number of the new Radiator cover is K2581-57134

I know what you mean, my replacement cover fits like a glove.. NO complaints..

I love my Bota... May call the dealer and ask for the new fenders, just in case.

Anyone know how big of a job to swap the fenders. I feel totally worthy of doing it myself, granted the dealer will let me and just order the parts?

Thought I saw ehere someone here did just that...didn't seem too awful a job, just a bit time-consuming. Took them a couple hours if I remember right.

I bought my 2230 in July (don't know the assembly date though); how do determine if I have the old fenders/radiatior cover?

Thanks

If you got a 2230, you don't have to worry about it,, they are metal..

Now if you got a 2350, look for ribs under on the fenders underneath where the platform bolts to the fenders...

Pics of the old and new battery cover were in the first inital post at the top of this thread.

What was your build date of the tractor?

If the dealer is going to give you new rear fenders, ask him if you can just keep the new until the old one breaks. That way, when it does, you can just swap the part at your leisure. I doubt that the factory wants the old parts back, and considering that the dealer is going to get paid the labor for just handing you the fender, it should work at well for both of you.

I picked up my new fender the other day. At least I picked it up after I gave them $470.00 They will refund my money after I bring in the broken fender and Kubota issues them a credit after it is shipped to them, so I doubt that you'll be able to keep old and new at the same time.

Must be a difference in dealers. Mine just gave me the fender. I'll put it in when I'm ready...they didn't ask for the old one, either. Very strange....
