1*Off hand I'd say that all wheel steer would definitely make it more maneuverable but,
2* I don't think that you could add all wheel steer to a BX size tractor. The weight lifting capacity alone of the 3ph would be too much for the mechanism to effectively support, at least affordably

1* wonder if aws really makes that much difference and is it actually worth hundred/thousands of $s more to get it. ?
2*so then aws is not nearly as heavy dutty .rite?

1*If you adj the wheels with the knob set at that position you wil have to reset the wheels every time you want to mow at a different hight.
Also you don't set the wheels below the deck .
The wheels are supposed to be set above the surface/ground.

Huh? If the wheels are above the deck lip, what's the point in having them? They wouldn't serve a purpose or ever help keep the deck from jamming into the ground. Am I missing something? Seriously, I don't understand that concept. I know that you don't want the wheels actually running on the ground all the time, they're just supposed to be there for those high spots in the yard.

I keep my wheels about 1/2 below the mower deck, and never adjust them if I cut higher, only if I cut lower. ANd I tend to cut about 3 1/2 inches high.

It might help you from feeling so beat up when the cutting is done. You can find them at any motorcycle shop that has dirtbike gear - $20.

You should not need such a thing just to mow yer grass.
I say slow the tractor down to under 90 MPH and smooth out the lawn!!!

1*I didn't say anything about setting the wheels above the deck lip.
2*Yeah you missed the part where I stated the wheels are supposed to be set 1/4'' to 1/2'' above the service.
Note That's surface not deck lip.
3*Again the manual is talking about the space between the wheel and the ground.
It's not referring to the distance between the wheel and the deck

I guess I got mixed up on what you said in your earlier post. "Also you don't set the wheels below the deck ." I thought you was referring to the mower deck.

Oh well, I guess I was having one of those moments.

Thanks.

3) Proper air pressure. No matter what psi you run the tires, makes sure that the two fronts are exactly the same as well as the two backs.
I run mine approx 3 psi lower in the rears inorder to cushion the bouncing and this does pretty good. Course I had to compensate for this in the MMM setup but it wasn't too much of an adjustment.

Volfandt, Nice over view on the mower success suggestions but I wanted to pick you brain on #3. Factory suggested pressure settings on my bar's are 22/17 respectively. So your running 19/14?
I had 17/16 in last year and I got into trouble with heavy loads and the FEL but the mowing was reasonable. At my 50hr service, my dealer set the pressures back to 22/17 and mowing the lawn is beating the stuffing out of me. Since I'm not wild about changing the pressure in the filled rears all the time I think of going with a 18/14 and just running the front (unfilled) up to 22 when I do FEL work. Any thoughts.

I'm running 14 in the rears and 22 in the fronts. Like you, I had discovered the fronts don't handle heavy FEL work when run lower.
I ran bars for the 1st two yrs then found a great deal on a set of turfs and changed over to them. I'm on my 2nd mowing season on them and they are much easier on my turf & rear :D
I decided to keep the bars tho, if I ever get into some extended dirt work they'll come in handy and will probably keep the resale value up should I ever upgrade to a larger machine. Those bars do make the machine look more aggressive :D

My manual has the turfs running lower pressures that the Bar's or AG's. I will give the 18/14 a go. Thanks for the help
