BX2350
I have been looking at the BX2350. I will be mowing 2 acres with some hill. The Kubota dealer was here today to look at my trade so I asked what tires he would recommend. He suggested Bar tires on the rear and Turf on the front. Does anyone have this combination and is this a problem having the tread different? I was thinking about the R4's. I don't expect that I will need to have 4wd engaged when normally mowing.

I have R4s on my 2350 and love them... no lawn damage at all and great traction.

It would be helpful if you would fill in your profile............do you live where snow is an issue??? Will you be doing any excavation work with the loader etc?? Since both if those issues apply to me I have both turf and bar tires mounted on wheels so that I can change them out when necessary if I need more traction.

I have R4s and turfs both. The turfs have been sitting under the house for 5 years. I keep the R4s on my BX2200 all the time. They have never damaged my turf unless I have supersaturated clay, in which case I think any tire would do damage. The turfs, however, do not provide necessary traction when using HD 3ph implements or doing loader work.

There are quite a few others on here like me with extra unused turfs. I'd recommend going with R4s, then if you really feel you need turfs too, you could advertise here and find someone who would sell their turfs at reduced price. You'd probably be able to find someone close enough to you that shipping would be low.

I bought my BX2200 with turfs and decided to mount bars on the front for winter. It's a perfect solution and possible since both types have the same circumference.

You should be able to change fronts or backs out to either type, as long as you don't opt for a different size.

I have a set of each. I used the bar tires exclusively the first couple of years. I finally mounted the turfs for a summer for mowing and found with the right pressure, they give a much smoother ride. We were mowing 4+ acres almost every week for 6-7 months of the year, so it did make the tractor more enjoyable. We now have less to mow, plus it has been so dry here, we have not put the turfs on this year. I've never had a problem with the bar tires causing damage, but we do have hard ground and we're mowing a "yard", not a manicured "lawn"! :)
