2016 Kubota BX2370-1. Coming up on about 13hrs.

Got a flat (rear) tire.

I'm planning on having the dealer install Rimguard and adding weights to the rear wheels sooner than later.

Also thinking about purchasing a Land Pride BB1248 48" rear box blade from the same dealer at the same time.
--

My question is -- should I install something like SLIME / Fix-a-Flat and limp along for a week or two until I can figure out the details (timing, and transporting it to the dealer and back) or just bite the bullet and have them pick it up as-is and deliver it back with the additional weight and box-blade attached?

I am not sure how the Slime would react with the Rimguard material. Might be a real pain to clean out. I would bite the bullitt and call the dealer to pick up. Did you try adding air to it to see if it will reinflate? Jon

I wouldn't use the slime, you want a good clean repair before you add rim guard or weights. Why don't you remove the tire/wheel and take it for proper repair at a tire shop or the dealer if he works on tires, then you can make up your mind about when/if you want to add the rim guard; you should be able to move the unweighted tire/wheel around without too much trouble.

Rim guard will give you about 80-90 lbs added per tire. Since you are going to add weights anyways, why don't you try them first. If that gives enough traction/stability you may not need the rim guard. You've already experienced one flat in 13 hours; liquid fill will only make things messy and more costly if you incur a future leak/puncture.

Pulled it off and ran it over to Tire World. $20 to repair "a hole".

I used a 13/16" socket on the lug nuts and torqued them to ~90lbs.

I was expecting them to be 21mm, but the 13/16" seemed to fit better.

Can anyone confirm if these are correct?

I assumed metric for the lug-nuts, but the 13/16th seemed to fit better than 21mm.
I found 80-96 ft/lbs mentioned in a few threads.

Didn't your tractor come with an owners manual? I would say all questions could be answered there.

With a BX I would consider tubes if you are running RimGuard, makes fixing holes on the L3130 a lot easier to do.

If you got one puncture you may likely get another.

My BX2200 tires rear tires were filled with windshield washer fluid, but after I got my first puncture I had them foam filled. VERY heavy now. Forget how much they weigh. Posted the weight here decade or so ago... memory is short :)

My concern was if I put liquid back in the punctured tire, I would find a way to get another puncture and I did not want to deal with it, so I decided to foam fill the rears. I had already foam filled the fronts.

Just food for thought. Not sure how foam compares in cost to RimGuard. But I will never have to deal with another puncture, and the stability on side slopes is amazing when the mower deck is on the tractor.

Where / how is that done? I've never heard of that.

I had it done at a large tire dealer. I think a place that repairs heavy equipment tires might do it, or could refer you to someone that does in the area.

Not cheap. I think it cost around $120 for each rear tire. I think the tire size is 26-12-12, if I remember right... ten or more years ago.
